New Susan Bijl Collection: PLAY

What started as a graduation concept at the Willem de Kooning Art Academy in Rotterdam is now one of the best-known bag brands from Rotterdam. Susan Bijl is a Dutch designer from Rotterdam who stands for reducing waste in a colourful way. At a young age, Susan Bijl was already tidying up a lot in order to make her world more efficient. This, combined with a good sense of colour and shape, gave her the idea of designing a bag that would make all plastic bags redundant. The bags are made of ripstop nylon: a thin, light, but very strong material that is available in a surprising number of colours. Susan took the archetype of the plastic bag as a starting point, but made the design even more functional by adding more space on the sides. Since 2019, the fabrics for the collection have been made from recycled materials. The products are vegan.

The colours of Susan Bijl's Play collection are sporty, fun and uplifting! The bright yellow of a tennis ball, green of freshly mown football fields. You might expect that all the colours have already been used, but this collection will surprise you again!

According to Susan Bijl, the new collection is a tribute to the one thing we all want after yet another lockdown; TO PLAY! With this new collection you can imagine yourself in a daydream where everything is possible: skipping responsibilities and hanging out all day!
